Everything we do here at Fishpond would be devoid of spirit without a sense of obligation to our rivers, and we endeavor to make a positive impact on those waterways through partnerships with like-minded organizations. For the last decade, we’ve joined American Rivers, a national river conservation nonprofit, in its mission to create a future of clean water and healthy rivers everywhere, for everyone. Since 1973, American Rivers has protected wild habitats, restored damaged rivers, and conserved clean water for people and nature.
In 2022 American Rivers named the Colorado River the #1 Most Endangered River in the country, highlighting the threat climate change and outdated water management pose to 30 federally recognized Tribal Nations, seven states, Mexico, and the drinking water for 40 million people. Also threatened is vital habitat for wildlife, as the Basin is home to 30 native fish species, two-thirds of which are threatened or endangered, and more than 400 bird species.

Rising temperatures and drought driven by climate change, combined with outdated river management and over-allocation of limited water supplies, threaten the entire region. In March 2022, water levels at Lake Powell fell to the lowest point in history and have continued dropping. The Colorado River system is already operating at a deficit, and climate change is expected to further reduce the river’s flow by 10 to 30 percent by 2050.
As a Colorado brand, the headwaters of the mighty Colorado River are our playground. They are the source of inspiration for everything we do, and protecting this one-of-a-kind resource is a responsibility we take very seriously. The Colorado River, and the $1.4 trillion economy it supports, are at a crossroads, where key decisions in the coming months and years will determine their fate. In support of our partnership with American Rivers, we've created a brand new, special edition Nomad River Armor Mid-Length Net, featuring a topographic display of the Colorado River. Fishpond will donate $90 to American Rivers for each of these nets that are purchased. With your help, this donation will allow American Rivers to continue to protect and restore waterways and quickly respond to the urgent threats they face.
